KIEAS Lectures
This is a biennial lecture series on East Asian studies provided primarily for students, following on from the "Lectures on Area Studies" of the Center for Area Studies. KIEAS publishes these lecture series by guest specialists, which have included, since 2000, "Southeast Asia in Transition," "The Twenty-First Century and Islam," "East Asia in the World" and "Modern East Asia and Japan." In 2008, the KIEAS lecture series will be given on the theme of "Popular Culture and Festivity in East Asia," coordinated by Prof. Masataka Suzuki, Faculty of Letters.
